Small Business success

Nickolai (Nick) Vasilieff is an entrepreneur, business manager, business and marketing consultant, therapist, and executive coach. In the past 35 years he has established and managed 12 companies in North America and Europe, published dozens of technical articles, and been a business and marketing consultant to over 100 companies.

Educated in electronic engineering and business management, Nick established his first company in 1971. Over 14 years, he built the steel-detailing company to 40 engineers and drafters providing services on large industrial construction projects worldwide.

In 1985 he shifted focus to take a challenging position as marketing director for a start-up engineering-software company. In 18 months he established over 100 dealers in North America, 38 distributors and dealers in Europe, and booked nearly one million dollars in sales.

Having established a reputation as a successful international marketer, a consortium of technical companies recruited him to introduce their products overseas. He then formed Third Party International, Inc. (TPI).  His technical knowledge combined with business and marketing expertise fit perfectly with helping small and mid-sized companies expand their markets and build sales and distribution networks internationally.

During his 20-year tenure as President and CEO of TPI, Nick built the company from a one-man consulting firm into an international consulting and management corporation working with over 100 companies from over 20 countries to expand markets and introduce over 250 products and services.

Along with building these two organizations, he opened 10 other businesses, including an import and distribution company, a retail store, the first software direct-distribution company in the UK, a non-profit agency dedicated to helping abused children, and on completing a 5 year course in psychotherapy, opened a small practice as a therapist and counselor.

In 2005 Nick sold TPI and took a two-year sabbatical. With his wife, he traveled around the world, visiting 13 countries, living out of a backpack, and, as he put it, “Living close to the ground and reconnecting with life.”

Nickolai Vasilieff is a partner in Vasilieff Consulting Group providing marketing and business development consulting services and workshops. As an international consultant and executive coach, he focuses on helping small and mid-size companies analyze markets and business activities, develop strategic business development plans, and implementating those plans. He also works with senior executives to teach his business development strategies.
